The Office “Job Fair”
May 8, 2008 by LMB
Another meh episode with a handful of super-awesome moments. I gotta agree - The Office has just not been the same since the strike. But I’m sticking with it cause how can I not?
Moments I loved:
- The numerous “look to the camera” shots, this time with Pam. She does irritated really well
- Michael freaking out that kid at the job fair. Was that supposed to be so sexual? Icky.
- Andy - everything with Andy. When his cart tipped over I laughed so loud that I’m sure I annoyed all of my neighbors.
- JAM! I was kinda bummed when the premise of this episode promised to keep the lovebirds apart but the last scene before credits was totally worth it. That was a pretty damn good kiss.
- The end scene with Pam and the graphic design. Though it may mean demise for PB&J, I like that they are making this newly confident character more real, in that someone like Pam would totally be looking to move on jobwise. Interesting that this is going on at the same time Jim is trying to keep his job. I wonder where that’s going?
- Dwangela! So adorable. I love Angela and Andy together but Dwight and Angela are the real deal.
The Michael stuff seems to be getting repetitive though. Overall, just a meh episode. Can’t wait for the finale though. Its an hour right? Here’s what I think will happen: Jim will propose. I have no idea after that.
Did I mention that I’m so utterly exhausted that I almost fell asleep through The Office? How am I going to make it through Lost?
ETA: Was that John Krasinski at the end? Or maybe a Krasinski brother? Dude looked and sounded just like JKras. I’m sure that was done on purpose - as in Jim encouraging Pam to shoot for the stars? Or maybe it was subtle nod to what Pam might have to give up.

“Michael freaking out that kid at the job fair. Was that supposed to be so sexual? Icky.”
Oh yeah. He needs a Ryan replacement.
When Jim said “Screw it,” at the end, I thought he was going to propose right then.
Oh, apparently Justin the wannabe intern was Frederick from Frasier. He hasn’t aged well.
Andy was just too great in this episode, I agree. And the JAM kiss was well worth the wait.
I can’t believe that was Frederick! I thought he didn’t look that bad. Just a geeky young adult.
To make any episode better, put Andy in the main or secondary story line. I’m so glad that kept Ed Helms around.
