I think it’s a horrible idea to have two co-hosts for the Oscars this year even if it is Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. More than one host doesn’t work. Let them prove me wrong but for right now, I don’t like it at all.
I say bring back Jon Stewart.

It’s yet another desperate stab by the Academy to increase viewership by changing things around. This isn’t nearly as bad as the decision to increase the number of Best Picture nominees (bad, stupid, unnecessary – all it does is dumb down the nominations).
Oscar hosts don’t do a whole lot on the show once their monologue/opening number is up. So I’m not really that bothered by it.
My feeling is that often the single host doesn’t do very well either, so they may as well do something different. At least it’s better than the Emmy’s with the five reality show hosts.
The 10 Best Picture thing is ridiculous. And the past couple of single hosts have been fantastic, it’s not their fault no one watches this show anymore.
Besides, two comedians doesn’t work. Maybe a funny man and a straight man would’ve been the right way to go.
I agree the 10 Best Pictures is ridiculous. I actually forgot about that.
